We made a quick trip to FL. to pick Beepa from Dan's sister.
Our first critter in Florida.
Say 'Armadillo'We had a little time so we visited our first FL lighthouse.

The old growth oaks are just breath taking
with tiny ferns and mosses
growing along the branches

These 5 gal. buckets were filled with kerosene or whale oil
and carried up to the lens three times a day.

The view looking down.
Dan didn't enjoy this view very much.
Note him hugging the wall that was not a good climb for him.

The other light station stairs

This was our first stop at the
St. Augustine Light Station.
So beautiful. And at the top you can see for miles.
You can climb all the way to the top.
The light house keepers had to paint the towers
twice a year due to the sand and wind
blasting the exterior every day.

This is Pounce De Leon Light Station
(Mosquito Coast Light Station)
Just south of Daytona Beach.
We climbed to the top of this one too.
