Who we've seen

Oh ya this is in the gardens alot looking for a girl friend. Good luck pal, your ugly!
So far this Red tail hawk is only getting squirrels. I think we'll start keeping the cats inside.

Danny's fawn.

This is the pretty side of NC in our backyard

Cardinals are every where.
Bluebirds are on their third nest.

The pukeing larva of Cicada's

The hills are alive with the song of Cicada's ... in a 17 years cycle... Oh no Is this Alien revisited. At least it's not scorpions. Hee Hee

Snakes!!

This would be snake #1 a southern copper head found it in Beepa's front yard now it's living under her wooden patio. She's not impressed! And Willy was not impressed either when he went to poke it and ran off limping. So far he's still alive so we think it was a youngster.

Oh yes! snake #2 a Eastern worm snake found it today in the bark mulch pile with eggs.

How do we like it here?

Now that the dust has settled I find myself looking out our window asking this question. Here's my thoughts. This house has all the things we ever hoped to own in our life time. A hugh sunny yard to start a garden and grow my own veggies and flowers. A bit of privacy so my neighbors can't look in my windows and three toilets. We have all the comforts that a near by (small town) city could ever offer. Our neighbors are nice not rust collectors or deer carcase lovers. We have the biggest oak trees surrounding our houses that give us shade all day during these warm summer days.

We have three bedrooms to house all our children and family when they come to visit. And they are all upstairs. Our bedroom and most of the main house are on the main floor. Our front porch is just big enough to have two chairs and a table to sip beer, wine or margaritas.

Having Beepa next door has always been a delight. She is very independent and is the happiest I have ever seen her in 21 years. I have asked her if she is happy and her response was "This was the best thing I've ever done"

Our lives have been altered haven taken this drastic move so far from our extended family but some times you have to do what you think is the best move to better your station in life. We feel we did that. I wish all my family and Danny's family could be this happy and I hope they will be or are right now. Sometimes I don't know if they have found that contentment, that pure calm that envelopes you when you pull in the driveway and feel "at home" Danny and I truly feel at home and the things we had to sacrifice to get here and the people we had to leave behind I hope will understand and rejoice with us in our new found joy.

Come down and visit... you may just not want to leave.

Beepa's New Grandchild

When walking out his house a friend of Cortney's heard a meowing on his porch. Found this kitten and didn't know who may want it. After many phone calls and phone photos later Beepa agreed to give this homeless wafe a place to live. It's name it Becky and declaired healthy by the vet. It's now recieving all the pampering it can handle at Beepa's. We could call it the birthday kitty as Dan and Beepa celebrated their birthday. So did our middle daughter Kathy Happy Birthday Kathy.

The Mosholder Extended Family

95% of us have moved to North Carolina, just waiting on Kathy and Jason.

Why do you people have a lobster on my back?

Views from our back door

Macy getting a drink from Beepa's fountain. The gardens on each side of her are full of herbs.

Beepa's waiting for the sun to go down for our first fire in our new firepit.

Looking out our back window, we see Beepa's beautiful rose gardens, and her house. She has the most sun all day, so the shade gardens are at her front door and Debbie's front door.

Our Visit to Chinqua-Penn Plantation

The plantation was a home built around 1926. The stone home is built in a "y" shape to get the best breeze through the windows. The couple Annie Penn and Mr. Bla Bla "can't remember his name" Named the plantation after the ChinQua trees on the property. A blight came through in the 30's and killed most of the trees so they renamed the property by adding Annie's last name and Cinqua -Penn Plantation is now privately owned by a tobacco tycoon and his young beautiful wife. They continue to keep it's art work and the grounds open to the public. They allow weddings too.
Spent half the day walking around Chinqua-Penn Plantation. Beautiful gardens, and fantastic house! Beepa wanted this pot, so Elaine tried to help her. The two of them couldn't budge it.
